In the winter season, low temperatures affect not only road conditions, but also the performance of your vehicle’s tires. One of the most important factors for road safety is proper tire pressure. But why is it so vital to monitor this element during the cold months?

Temperatures and Tire Pressure

In cold weather, the air inside tires contracts, reducing their pressure. For every 10°C drop in temperature, tire pressure can drop by 0.1-0.2 bar. This change may seem small, but it’s enough to negatively affect vehicle control, stability, and tire wear.

Why is correct pressure important?

Improves control and safety: Low tire pressure reduces road grip, especially on wet, snowy, or icy surfaces. This can increase braking distances and make the car more difficult to maneuver.
Saves fuel: Under-inflated tires increase rolling resistance, causing the car to consume more fuel.

How to check tire pressure?
